Letter by a Bodo father for the justice of his son

Today I have appealed for justice to our honourable P.M. for legal justice of my son Sidon Basumatary.I request all my brothers and sisters to share as much as you can so that my son can get the legal justice. My Case registered at Prime Minister's Office, registration no-PMOPG/E/201/0113275

To,
The Honourable Prime Minister
Narendra Damodar Modi
India
Sub:- (Prayer for legal justice for the Mysterious death of my son Sidon Basumatary)
Respected Sir,
With due humble respect I Mr Bapan Basumatary ,s/o-Kula Basumatary ,resident of Khoirabari under Udalguri district ,Assam ,would like to draw your kind attention towards the below mentioned points.
1. On 8th nov 2016 I got a phone call from the school authority at around 10.45am that my son commited suicide within the hostel premises of Diamond English School,Harisinga. So I along with my family member reached the suicide spot at around 12:00 pm and found my son in a mysterious position.
2.Though the school authority tried to claim the incident as a suicide but looking to the body position and the visible spot mark on the body does not allow us to believe it as a suicide.Because the foot of my son was touching the ground and the rope was untied in the upper end, also there were lots of spot mark and cut mark over the body.
3. After our arrival at the incident site in the hostel premises we found the school authority in a suspicious role because they did not show any sympathy nor they co-operated us in any matter. The school authority did not allow any media person to enter the hostel premises which made us to suspect the school authority behind the incident.
4.During the body recovery time the incident site was investigated by the O.C., I/O ,SDPO along with the presence of civil magistrate.Though FIR was registered under case no 66/16 u/s 302IPC  but no development is  seen till today and not even a single person is arrested.
5.The time of death of my son Sidon Basumatary according to the P.M. report done on 9th nov 2016 at 2:55 P.M was 36hrs to 48hrs .Which means my son died before 3:A.M on 8th nov2016.But the school authority tried to claim that my son was alive till 9:30 A.M. on 8th nov 2016.The variation of time instigate us to think that there must be a big conspiracy behind the dead of my son.
                            Sir,
As a father of Sidon Basumatary I have tried my best to do whatever possible to give my son a legal justice. But no official or police personal is showing any positive response.Today I have lost faith in the investigating police personals and local higher authority. Now you are the only hope ,who could ensure the legal justice to the departed soul of my son Sidon Basumatary.
I along with all my family member would be ever thankful to you If you kindly look into the matter and give my son a legal justice.

OMG chinese Butterfly boy ..

‘Butterfly’ boy flaps his wings to college despite body limitations

Mei Xiao is a miracle in the eyes of all of those who know him.

The 19-year-old “Butterfly" boy has been fighting a life-limiting skin condition – epidermolysis bullosa (EB) – since he was born, which has left him without skin over half of his body.

And the boy seems to be winning the battle.

The boy, from Chizhou city, east China’s Anhui Province, has been through great sufferings. His medical condition means that his skin keeps peeling off, leaving him bleeding all over frequently. His fingers, toes as well as facial muscles have been atrophied, leaving him incapable of holding anything or moving without others' help. The young boy is also blind in one eye.

Most of his body has been wrapped in bandage to protect him from infections, and his life is a cycle of medication, antibiotics and ointments -- all to soothe his pain and keep him alive.

But against all the odds, Mei chose a path that is unimaginable for many. He insisted on going to school, and did fairly well. Last year, he was admitted to a vocational institute in Chizhou.

He is currently continuing his studies on campus, under the care of his mother, and has his life plans to realize.

“My next goal is getting an accounting certificate, so that I can find a job to support myself and repay my parents and all those who have helped me.”

wow.. He was a ..

Upendranath Brahma

Upendranath Brahma was a Bodoland political leader. Brahma was born in Boragari village near Dotma, a small township at Kokrajhar district of Assam, India. He was a son of Mr. Monglaram Brahma and Ms. Lefsri Brahma. He was the fifth, and youngest, child. He was called "Thopen" during his childhood. He grew up in poverty.

Early life and education

Brahma was born in Boragari village near Dotma, a small township at Kokrajhar district of Assam, India. He was a son of Mr. Monglaram Brahma and Ms. Lefsri Brahma. He was the fifth, and youngest, child. He was called "Thopen" during his childhood. He grew up in poverty.
From 1963, Brahma studied at various schools, including Dotma High School, Kokrajhar High School and, in 1973, at Sakti Ashram High and Vocational School under the guidance of Swamiji. In 1975, he passed the matriculation examination in the first division with letter marks in Mathematics. He secured 67% marks in the examination. Thereafter he obtained a BSc honours degree in Physics from Cotton College[citation needed] before enrolling at Gauhati University in 1981 for his MSc degree. Brahma also worked as a graduate science teacher at the Nehru Vocational High School in Gossainichina, and studied for a BA at Kokrajhar College during that period. He obtained his BA in 1985 and his MSc in 1986.[citation needed] He had also been admitted to study law on an LLB course in 1984 but this ended abruptly due to him being bullied.[citation needed]

Political activism

He lectured in many parts of Assam on the theme of discrimination against Bodo people. He claimed that they were treated as second class citizens and that their young people had no employment opportunities upon completion of their education.[citation needed] Jobs in Assam were mostly occupied by Assamese-speaking individuals.[citation needed] But now the scene has changed with Bodos working all over Assam in top ranking jobs with the introduction of about 20% ST and SC reserved quotas.[citation needed]
Brahma was elected as the President of the Goalpara District Students Union in 1978–79. He was vice-president of the All Bodo Students Union between 1981–1983 and president from 1986. Through this body he worked for the rights of the community, which he believed to be losing not merely its culture but also its political rights. Under his leadership, the ABSU agreed to include political issues as part of its agenda.
Brahma and his followers gradually mobilized Bodo students at the grass-roots level. In 1987, as the All Assam Students Union movement was losing momentum, he and his colleagues started a movement to create a separate state within Assam, to be called Bodoland.Brahma, still believed by many as someone who introduced a divide among both neglected Assamese and Bodo people of Assam.[citation needed] Assamese say when they themselves are victims of negligence how can they do the same to others.[citation needed] Most believe in this age people have forgotten to live together in peace and instead of fighting it together has taken the alternative road of Hate.[citation needed]

Death

Brahma died in Tata memorial cancer hospitalMumbai on 1 May 1990 as a consequence of blood cancer . His body was taken to Kokrajhar and then buried at Dotoma on 4 May. The ground where Brahma was buried is now known as "Thulungaphuri".

Honours

The title of Bodofa (Father of the Bodos) was posthumously conferred upon Brahma on 8 May 1990 in recognition of his vision and leadership. His life is celebrated each year on the anniversary of his death, which is now called Bodofa Day.
A 21-foot-tall (6.4 m) bronze statue of him was unveiled in Kokrajhar on the tenth anniversary of his death.

Philosophies

Brahma believed that everybody needs an aim in life. He was also of the view that through the mass movement of ABSU, the Bodos would be famous in the world. He had a great plan of action for the Bodos. He realised that only through Mass Movement, they would be able to get Bodoland.[citation needed] He also desired the Bodoland State to be advanced in education. He also desired inclusion of both nationalism and socialism in the curriculum. He also expressed the view that the history of the Bodos should be re-written. Upendranath Brahma also wanted the development of the villages in Bodoland state. He desired that government should establish co-operative societies in the villages. He believed it the proverb, "self help is the best help" and he wished the Bodo people of the Bodoland state also to follow his path and attain the ultimate success in life.
He favoured introduction of sports as a compulsory subject in the school curriculum. He was of the view that this would help Bodo youths to excel in games and sports. He also desired the new state government to take necessary steps for setting up of new industries in the state. It was not possible to bring economic development of the common people without the development of industries.
He understood that literature is the identity of the community. He was an active writer of poems, short stories and literary articles. He also wrote articles and essays on science. He was also an editor of "BIDANGSRI" from 1977–78. In 1980, he edited "ORKHI", a news magazine in Bodo from Kokrajhar. Through The Bodoland Times, he tried to reflect the hopes and aspirations of the Bodos.
Brahma desired the state government to take steps for the protection of the tribal art and culture. He wanted a Tribal Culture Preservation Department to be created. He also realised the necessity of a state for the tribals. He was of the opinion that only a separate state would help the tribals to develop.
